Top 3 safety resources for young workers
Now more than ever we need to support the young people in our workforce. From 2017-2021, approximately 20% of incidents reported to SafeWork NSW were the result of an injury to a young worker.

1. Young Workers eToolkit
In the Young Workers eToolkit, you can access a range of easy-to-understand resources that have been specifically developed to support young workers’ safety. Information has been specifically tailored for young workers, employers, parents and guardians, as well as educators.
The eToolkit has real stories about young people who have been injured or killed at work, the impact of this, and how it could have been prevented.
2. Wait, Take Five
Before completing a task, remember to wait, take five.

- Ask yourself, is it safe?
- Could it hurt someone?
- Speak up if you’re concerned
- Ask for help
3. Speak Up, Save Lives
Are you worried about raising a health and safety concern at work? The Speak Up Save Lives app is a quick, easy and anonymous way to report an unsafe work situation directly to SafeWork NSW.
