Danrae Remedial Services Pty Ltd

On 12 November 2021, a 34 year old worker and 19 year old trainee were welding plastic on site when the product they were working on caught fire.
After a SafeWork NSW investigation the defendant, Danrae Remedial Services Pty Ltd, was charged with a breach of section 32/19(1) of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.
On 23 May 2025, the defendant was convicted by the District Court and fined $150,000.

On 11 January 2022, a 28-year old worker was pulling formwork components from around a duplex swimming pool, when he tripped and fell backwards landing on an uncapped steel reinforcement bar protruding from the pool.
After a SafeWork NSW investigation the defendant, Built by EPS Pty Ltd, was charged with breaches of section 32/19(1) of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (WHS Act) and clauses 40(a), 79(2) and 298(1)(b) of the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2017.
The director of Built by EPS P/L, Paul Wahhab, was charged with a breach of section 32/27(1) of the WHS Act. .
On 16 May 2025, the defendants were convicted by the District Court. The corporate defendant was fined a total of $159,000 for all charges. The director defendant was fined $15,000 and a training order was imposed under s. 241 of the WHS Act.
Hibernian Contracting Pty Ltd

On 17 August 2022, a 42 year old labourer sustained serious injuries when he was using an angle grinder to detach a tank inside a pit causing an explosion.
After a SafeWork NSW investigation the defendant, Hibernian Contracting Pty Ltd, was charged with a breach of section 32/19(1) of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.
On 14 May 2025, the defendant was convicted by the Industrial Court of NSW and fined $180,000.
Flash Homes Pty Ltd

On 7 August 2023, a notifiable incident occurred when a 51 year old worker sustained serious injury when he fell from a height. The incident was notified to SafeWork NSW on 16 August 2023. The incident site was disturbed before an inspector could attend.
After a SafeWork NSW investigation the defendant, Flash Homes Pty Ltd, was charged with a breach of sections 38(1) and 39(1) of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.
On 12 May 2025, the defendant was convicted by the Downing Centre Local Court and fined $4950 for each offence.
Newcastle Roofing Professionals Pty Ltd

On 8 November 2021, a worker was replacing the roof of a two storey house when he slipped and fell 4.2m to the ground, striking a handrail as he fell.
After a SafeWork NSW investigation the defendant, Newcastle Roofing Professionals Pty Ltd, was charged with a breach of section 32/19(1) of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.
On 2 May 2025, the defendant was convicted by the District Court and fined $300,000.
