Junco Jay Group Pty Ltd

On 27 February 2023, a worker fell approximately one storey through an unprotected void from the second level to the first level of a residential house while installing insulation prior to the installation of plasterboard.

In lieu of a prosecution SafeWork NSW has entered into an Enforceable Undertaking (EU) with Junco Jay Group Pty Ltd. The EU is valued at $31,000.

Summary of undertaking

Activities Junco Jay Group Pty Ltd will undertake include:

  • Engagement of an external provider to undertake a comprehensive review of its WHS framework, including:
    • a risk assessment of existing WHS policies and procedures
    • ongoing WHS support, and
    • annual policy reviews.
  • Completion of WHS due diligence training and Managing WHS Compliance and Contractors training, including the nationally recognised competency unit BSBWHS418.
