Inspector recruitment information session
1. Who we are
Your information is being collected and held by the SafeWork NSW Agency (SafeWork NSW). We give priority to protecting the privacy of your personal and health information, in accordance with the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (PPIP Act).
2. Why we collect your personal information
SafeWork NSW is collecting your personal information to respond to your expression of interest in learning more about the role of a SafeWork NSW Inspector. This collection is permitted under the PPIP Act and will be used exclusively to communicate with you and support your engagement in relation to this matter.
3. The information we are collecting
We may collect the following information:
- your full name and email address
- time of the session you wish to attend
- if you are interested in speaking to an inspector after the event.
Failure to provide information
Providing stakeholder information is voluntary; however, if you choose not to provide your information, it may impact:
- your ability to participate in SafeWork information sessions
- receiving relevant updates and invitations.
4. How we will use your information
SafeWork NSW will use your name and email to notify you of any changes to the recruitment session before the event, and to provide relevant follow-up information after the event in relation to Inspector Recruitment.
SafeWork NSW are collecting your time of attendance and interest in speaking with an inspector to ensure we have enough inspectors available on-site during the sessions.
5. Who we may share your information with
On 1 July 2025, SafeWork was established as an Executive Agency related to the Department of Customer Service (DCS). DCS will continue to provide some corporate service functions to SafeWork under formal agreement and assist us with our business operations by providing software and storing data on our behalf. We will not disclose your personal information to anybody unless we are authorised or permitted to do so by law or where you give consent. For a description of when this may occur, refer to our privacy statement.
6. Protecting your information
We will store and manage your information in accordance with the provisions of the PPIP Act and HRIP Act. We have measures in place to help protect your personal information from loss, unauthorised access, use, modification, disclosure, or other misuse.
We will only keep information for as long as we need it to fulfil the purposes we collected it for. After which, the information will be disposed of securely in accordance with the State Records Act 1998 and any other applicable legislation.
