On 1 September 2015, WorkCover NSW was replaced by three new entities – including SafeWork NSW, the new work health and safety regulator.

Between them, these cover all the same services and functions you are used to getting from WorkCover.

These changes are part of reforms to improve the workers compensation system for both employers and injured workers. For details about workers compensation reforms, go to insurancereforms.nsw.gov.au

WorkCover has been split into SafeWork NSW for work health and safety regulation; the State Insurance Regulatory Authority for insurance regulation of workers compensation motor accidents compensation (ctp) and home building compensation and icare for insurance and care provision of workers insurance lifetime care, dust diseases care, self insurance, and builders warranty.

icare is the brand of Insurance & Care NSW, and acts for the Workers Compensation Nominal Insurer and provides services to Dust Diseases Authority, Lifetime Care and Support Authority, Sporting Injuries Authority and NSW Self Insurance Corporation.
