Your mental health at work

Of the 3,400 people that have been trained so far, 99% said they would recommend the training and 92% now have a stronger knowledge of managing their mental health at work.

In partnership with Black Dog Institute, we are providing free mental health training to all individuals across NSW.

Stressed with work or dealing with depression? Can you tell the difference? A change in behaviour or performance in yourself or a colleague, could be a sign of mental ill-health.

Understanding and supporting someone who may be struggling with their mental health or reaching out for support yourself can help aid recovery.

Leading mental health research organisation, Black Dog Institute are providing mental health training for individuals to help you identify warning signs of mental ill-health, understand what support is available, and learn techniques to improve wellbeing.

This training is designed for all individuals, including:

  • Sole traders
  • Employees
  • Tradespeople and apprentices
  • Volunteers

Developed by experts to give you the knowledge and skills to:

  • Understand the prevalence of mental ill-health and its impact
  • Recognise changes in behaviour and identify the warning signs of mental ill-health
  • Have effective conversations around stress, health, and wellbeing
  • Implement wellbeing strategies into your personal and work life

The two delivery options are:

1. Online Interactive Workshop

  • Length: 2-hours
  • Format: Zoom Meeting

Delivered live by a clinical psychologist and incorporating various interactive tools for engagement including polls, breakout rooms and whiteboard. Participants will be given the opportunity to ask specific questions on any issues they are facing. The training can be organised at a time and date to suit your workplace with up to 25 participants or individuals can attend a public workshop.

2. Online Module

  • Length: 45 minutes
  • Format: Three-part online module

The 45-minute online module can be accessed through a unique login portal and can be completed at a time and pace that suits you.

The program provides information to

Improve your mental health literacy and knowledge of mental health in the workplace
Reduce stigmatising attitudes towards mental illness
Help you understand the issues and responsibilities around disclosure
Provide you with confidence and develop your skills to have effective conversations about mental health
Help you understand the range of support available inside and outside your workplace for yourself and others
Build your personal resilience and strategies to more effectively manage your own mental health at work

Who can apply?

Any NSW private sector individuals or businesses with less than 200 employees.
