What else do I need to know about eligibility for the OPD rebate?

From 1 July 2023, OPDs will be available to eligible businesses under the SafeWork NSW Small Business Rebate to a maximum value of $1000.

An OPD/roll bar is designed to reduce the risk of serious injury in the event of a quad bike roll over. OPDs must have sufficient design and testing documentation to be an eligible item for this rebate.

There are two eligible OPDs which qualify for this rebate:

This rebate covered up to $600 for the purchase of each OPD.

Key information:

  • From 11 October 2021, OPDs pre-fitted at point of sale to new and second hand imported quad bikes are not eligible for this rebate. The OPD must be purchased separately to fit to a pre-owned quad bike.
  • The Quad Bar Flexi Quick Release is not an eligible item under this rebate.
  • This rebate does not cover the cost to install the OPD.
  • Always follow manufacturer’s instructions regarding correct installation and maintenance.
