Safe Work Australia is reviewing workplace exposure standards for airborne contaminants, to ensure standards are based on up to date, high quality evidence supported by a rigorous scientific basis.
After commissioning research, Safe Work Australia released its draft evaluation reports and recommendations, on which it is seeking feedback.
Safe Work Australia would like input on the exposure limits in the reports, particularly the toxicological information and data, as well as the measurement and analysis process.
The current stage of the review only includes the following chemicals that are not yet accorded an Australian workplace exposure standard:
- Bisphenol-A
- Bisphenol-A diglycidyl ether
- 1-bromopropane
- but-2-yne-1,4-diol
- γ-butyrolactone
