SafeWork NSW is bringing its Safer Communities, Safer Towns event to Moruya next week to provide free advice to local businesses.

SafeWork NSW is bringing its Safer Communities, Safer Towns event to Moruya next week to provide free advice to local businesses.

The SafeWork NSW Team will be at Moruya on Monday 16 November helping business owners, managers, workers and the community to be safer.

SafeWork NSW Director, Regional and Response Operations, Tony Williams, said SafeWork inspectors will be available to provide face-to-face support on a range of issues faced by small businesses.

“The event is an opportunity for local small businesses to receive expert advice to help them meet work health and safety and workers compensation obligations while discovering what other free services and resources are available,” Mr Williams said.

“SafeWork staff will provide practical advice on work health and safety laws, changes to workers compensation, injury management and recover at work programs.

“Small businesses face many challenges and our inspectors will be able to meet with locals in an effort to tailor health and safety solutions to their workplaces.”

Businesses that attend may be eligible for a rebate of up to $500 through SafeWork’s Small Business Rebate Program which can be used to purchase and install safety improvements.

The SafeWork NSW Safety Van will be at Moruya Industrial Estate, Shelley Road, Moruya (in the café’s car park) from 10.30am – 11.30am and at the car park at 93 Campbell Street, Moruya from 12pm – 2pm.

To book a spot with a SafeWork NSW inspector call SafeWork NSW’s Bega office on (02) 6491 6600.
