SafeWork NSW is calling on employers, workers, industry and the wider community to provide their input on SafeWork NSW’s regulatory priorities for the 2026-27 financial year.
The regulatory priorities are part of SafeWork NSW’s Annual Regulatory Statement.
The proposed regulatory priorities for the upcoming financial year, which starts on 1 July 2026, are:
- falls from heights
- managing psychosocial risks
- exposure to hazardous chemicals including asbestos, silica and welding fumes
- Mobile plant, vehicles and fixed machinery.
Feedback on the Annual Regulatory Statement and regulatory priorities will help ensure they reflect industry needs, protect workers and keep the community safe.
It will also support the 2024-2029 SafeWork NSW strategic plan.
To read the consultation paper and complete the survey, visit the Have Your Say website.
The closing date to provide feedback is 31 May 2026.
SafeWork Commissioner Janet Schorer said:
“We want to hear from workers, employers, unions and industry associations from all sectors, and anyone with an opinion on health and safety at work.”
“This will allow SafeWork NSW to focus resources on areas with the highest risks and where we can have the greatest impact on preventing harm and harassment in the workplace.”
