NSW Fair Trading and SafeWork NSW will be in Dubbo next week as part of the Fair and Safe Together roadshow.
From 15 to 17 November, there will be presentations, discussions and activities in the community to learn more about consumer awareness and work health and safety for businesses.
NSW Fair Trading Commissioner and Head of SafeWork NSW Natasha Mann said the NSW Government is responding to consumer and work safety issues identified in the Dubbo region.
“Following a successful three days in Wagga Wagga in October, we’re bringing the Fair and Safe Together roadshow to the Western Plains community,” Ms Mann said.
“Whether you want to know about buying a used car, how your business can access the SafeWork NSW rebates, or what the local consumer trends and complaint issues are in Dubbo, there’s a session for everyone.
“We are hoping to engage with small to medium businesses from retailers and traders, to licensed motor vehicle repairers and dealers, real estate agents, disability service providers and those in agriculture.
“We want to inform and educate small businesses and priority community groups by showcasing how NSW Fair Trading and SafeWork NSW can assist both consumers and traders through a range of sessions.”
There are a range of events being delivered during the three days – talks and presentations at the Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre and outreach activities where the community will see NSW Fair Trading and SafeWork NSW officers delivering compliance and education programs.
“One of the most reported consumer complaints received by NSW Fair Trading for Dubbo is in the automotive category, so we have an information session on what people need to know when buying a used car and will be out and about in Dubbo delivering information as part of the NSW Fair Trading used car campaign,” Ms Mann said.
“It’s a great initiative and collaboration between NSW Fair Trading and SafeWork NSW.”
NSW Fair Trading and SafeWork NSW has a long history of working in the community to make Dubbo fairer and safer for consumers, workers and businesses.
“We’re eager to work with the community to ensure the public are well informed about their rights, have access to information, and businesses are aware of their responsibilities, providing access to tools and rebates available to support fair and safe services,” Ms Mann said.
