WorkCover NSW is calling for businesses across the state to showcase their commitment to workplace safety and submit an entry in the 2015 WorkCover NSW SafeWork Awards.

WorkCover NSW Executive Director of Work Health and Safety, Peter Dunphy, said the annual awards, now in their 12th year are an ideal opportunity for businesses to share their safety achievements with industry peers.

“The Awards recognise businesses and individuals that make positive changes to work health and safety, workers compensation, and return to work,” Mr Dunphy said.

“The Awards are a platform to highlight how innovation and forward thinking have contributed to improving safety and injury management outcomes.

“The Awards also recognise successful return to work initiatives for businesses as well as the personal achievements of individuals who have suffered an injury on the job and successfully overcome it,” he said.

The 2014 Awards received the highest number of entries since their inception in 2004, with 26 finalists selected from 176 entries submitted by businesses and individuals across the State.

“This year we are hoping to top that number. Businesses, individuals and organisations can highlight their leadership in driving down injury rates and raising the bar on workplace safety,” Mr Dunphy said.

Entering the Awards is easy with a fast and simple online application process.

Entries close at 5:00pm Friday June 5. Enter online at safeworkawards.com.au
