Profect Construction Pty Ltd

On 9 February 2023, a truck driver was operating a vehicle loading crane to deliver sand and cement to a site when the VLC contacted low voltage overhead power lines.
After a SafeWork NSW investigation the defendant, Profect Construction Pty Ltd, was charged with a breach of sections 32/19(1) of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.
On 4 November 2025, the defendant was convicted by the Industrial Court of NSW and fined $45,000.
The Danebritt Group Pty Ltd

On 24 November 2022, two workers were placed at risk while stocking a newly installed sunglasses display cabinet that was only partially affixed to a wall.
After a SafeWork NSW investigation the defendant, The Danebritt Group Pty Ltd, was charged with a breach of sections 33/19(2) of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.
On 14 November 2025, the defendant was convicted by the Industrial Court of NSW and fined $90,000.
SSE Roofing Pty Ltd and Simon Seeman

On 4 August 2022, two workers were exposed to a risk of serious injury from falls of approximately 6.2m to the ground from the roof and scaffold.
After a SafeWork NSW investigation the defendants, SSE Roofing Pty Ltd, and the Director, Simon Semaan, were respectively charged with a breach of sections 32/19(1) and sections 32/27(1) of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.
On 21 November 2025, the defendants were convicted by the Industrial Court of NSW. The corporate defendant was fined $35,000 and the director defendant was fined $15,000.
Matthew McCourt

On 1 June 2022, a 22 year old 4th year apprentice sustained injuries when he fell 4.5 metres off a roof onto the concrete below whilst installing solar panels on a house.
After a SafeWork NSW investigation the defendant, Matthew McCourt, was charged with a breach of sections 32/27(1) of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.
On 27 November 2025, the defendant was convicted by the District Court and fined $101,150.
