Jungheinrich Australia Pty Ltd

On 2 December 2021, a worker was operating a 7T forklift to retrieve a cable drum. As he alighted the forklift it moved and pinned him resulting in fatal injuries.
After a SafeWork NSW investigation the defendant, Jungheinrich Australia Pty Ltd, was charged with a breach of section 32/19(2) of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (the Act).
On 26 March 2025, the defendant was convicted by the District Court and fined $150,000 with a Project Order imposed under s. 238 of the Act.
State Asphalt Services Pty Ltd

On 21 May 2021, a worker was fatally injured when he was run over by a large dump truck.
After a SafeWork NSW investigation the defendant, State Asphalt Services Pty Ltd, was charged with a breach of section 32/19(1) of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.
On 21 March 2025, the defendant was convicted by the District Court and fined $450,000.
Demolition 1 Pty Limited

On 5 August 2021, a worker was demolishing a masonry structure using an excavator, and while attempting to rake bricks with the excavator bucket, the structure collapsed, with a section falling outwards onto the public footpath and roadway.
After a SafeWork NSW investigation the defendant, Demolition 1 Pty Limited, was charged with a breach of sections 32/19(1) and 33/19(2) of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.
On 21 March 2025, the defendant was convicted by the District Court and fined $75,000 and $15,000 respectively for the offences.
Abdul El-Hawly

On 23 August 2021, a 28 year old worker was injured when he became entangled in a rope which was fed into a wood chipper. The incident resulted in the amputation of his legs.
After a SafeWork NSW investigation the defendant, Abdul El-Hawly, was charged with a breach of section 32/19(1) of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.
On 21 March 2025, the defendant was convicted by the District Court and fined $60,000.
Galvatech Pty Ltd
21 March 2025
On 11 February 2022, a 43 year old male Forklift operator was injured when a forklift struck him while he was working.
After a SafeWork NSW investigation the defendant, Galvatech Pty Ltd, was charged with a breach of section 32/19(1) of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.
On 21 March 2025, the defendant was convicted by the District Court and fined $225,000.
Bhullar Steel Australia Pty Ltd
20 March 2025
On 4 August 2021, a 25-year-old worker was injured when he was using a gantry crane and magnetic lifter to lift a steel frame, and the frame separated from the lifter and fell on the worker.
After a SafeWork NSW investigation the defendant, Bhullar Steel Australia Pty Ltd, was charged with a breach of section 32/19(1) of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.
On 20 March 2025, the defendant was convicted by the District Court and fined $270,000.
