On 9 May 2017, a German National traveller was seriously injured when his left foot became entangled in the spinning blades of an auger in a grain silo, at Mendooran.
After a SafeWork NSW investigation, the defendant, E G Knight & Sons Pty Ltd, was charged with a breach of section 32/19(1) of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.

On 18 July 2019, the defendant was convicted by the District Court and fined $5,000

Austar Plumbing Services Pty Ltd

On 7 April 2017, a worker was injured when the wall of the trench he was working in collapsed, at Auburn.

After a SafeWork NSW investigation, the defendant, Austar Plumbing Services Pty Ltd, was charged with a breach of section 32/19(1) of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.

On 17 July 2019, the defendant was convicted by the Local Court and fined $50,000.

The defendant appealed the severity of the Judgment to the District Court and on 04 September 2019 the Court allowed the appeal and imposed a reduced fine of $25,000.

Truslan Constructions Pty Ltd

12 July 2019

On 25 October 2016, a 55 year old carpenter suffered fatal injuries when he fell from the exposed edge of a partially constructed formwork deck under construction, and was impaled through the chest on a reo bar, at Ryde.

After a SafeWork NSW investigation, the defendant, Truslan Constructions Pty Ltd, was charged with a breach of section 32/19(1) of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.

On 12 July 2019, the defendant was convicted by the District Court and fined $450,000

Millwell Cush Pty Ltd

08 July 2019

On 16 December 2016, a mill worker suffered injury when his left hand became trapped in a double roller flour milling machine while undertaking cleaning of the machine, at Wallamore.

After a SafeWork NSW investigation, the defendant, Millwell Cush Pty Ltd, was charged with a breach of section 32/19(1) of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.

On 08 July 2019, the defendant was convicted by the District Court and fined $112,500.
