On 22 February 2016, a 45 year old painter was injured when he fell from a height.

After a SafeWork NSW investigation, the defendant, Miro Maric, was charged with a breach of section 32/27(1) of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.

On 15 April 2019, the defendant was convicted by the District Court and fined $37,500.

On 15 April 2019, the defendant was convicted by the District Court and fined $187,500.

Roland Albert Samuels

On 14 October 2016, a worker in Dubbo suffered a deep laceration to his hand when his clothing became caught on, and he was drawn into, an unguarded rotating shaft of a chaff cutting machine.

After a SafeWork NSW investigation, the defendant, Roland Samuels, was charged with a breach of section 32/27(1) of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.

On 10 April 2019, the defendant was convicted by the District Court, fined $22,500, ordered to undertake training under section 241 of the Act, ordered to conduct a work health and safety project pursuant to section 238 of the Act, and to enter into a work health and safety undertaking under section 239 of the Act.

DSD Builders Pty Ltd

The court elected to issue a penalty notice for not providing adequate protection against the risk of falls.

The defendant, DSD Builders Pty Ltd, was charged with a breach of regulation 79(2) of the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2017.

On 08 April 2019, the defendant was convicted by the Local Court and fined $5,000.
