How we handle your personal information when you register for and attend the building and construction symposium.

Your information is being collected and held by SafeWork NSW. SafeWork NSW gives priority to protecting the privacy of your personal information, in accordance with the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (PPIP Act) and the Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002 (HRIP Act).

Why we collect your personal information
SafeWork NSW is collecting your personal information for the purposes of registering you to attend and participate in the building and construction symposium.
The kinds of information we collect
The personal information collected may include:
- first and last name
- email address and telephone number
- employer name and title
- dietary and accessibility requirements
- opinions or personal views.
How we may use this information
We may use the information we collect in the following ways:
- To register you for the symposium and sessions.
- To inform the venue of your catering and accessibility requirements.
- To communicate with you regarding the symposium including sending reminders and follow-up information via email and text.
- To respond to your inquiries and provide customer support.
- To improve our symposium and other services based on feedback and analytics.
- To support more informed policy making, program management, evaluation, research, and service planning as it can facilitate more efficient service delivery for residents and business in NSW.
- Other directly related purposes.
Who we may share your information with
We may share your information with:
- The venue regarding dietary and accessibility requirements.
- We may share de-identified information for research and statistical purposes.
We will not disclose your information to anybody else unless we are authorised or permitted to do so by law or where you have given consent. For further information, please see our Privacy Statement.
Protecting your information
We will store and manage your information in accordance with the provisions of the PPIP Act and HRIP Act. We have measures in place to help protect your personal information from loss, unauthorised access, use, modification, disclosure, or other misuse.
We will only keep information for as long as we need it to fulfil the purposes we collected it for. After which, the information will be disposed of securely in accordance with the State Records Act 1998 and any other applicable legislation.
