Musculoskeletal disorders symposium 2018Event | 08/11/2018
Join us on 8-9 November in Sydney at our Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) Symposium where we will share research and ideas about best-practice approaches to managing hazardous manual tasks and prevention of MSDs in the workplace
Hazardous manual tasks are the most common cause of injury in the workplace, accounting for 29 per cent of injuries in NSW. We are hosting this symposium as part of our commitment to reducing the incidence of these injuries by 30 percent by 2022.
It is an opportunity for safety managers, business owners, academics and anyone with an interest in work health and safety to explore: the critical role leadership plays in effectively reducing MSDs, changing the focus away from manual handling training and towards managing risk factors, and the link between MSD’s and psychosocial risks.
This two-day symposium focuses on three key streams:
- Landscape – NSW businesses embed a work health and safety landscape that addresses risks that lead to MSDs
- NSW businesses use a systematic approach to eliminate and/or reduce exposure to MSD hazards and risk factors
- Lessons learnt – NSW businesses, injured workers and health professional’s work together to learn from MSD injuries and make improvements
The program includes key note addresses from four leading researchers and industry experts, with practical presentations and workshops and the opportunity to network with other attendees. A detailed program will be available shortly on this page.
As spaces at the symposium are limited, we recommend that you register your attendance early to avoid missing out. The registration fee is $299 (GST incl.) per person.
